Dr Jan Gehrmann

Career and activities.

Jan Gehrmann has been practising in the field of intellectual property since 2014. As a patent attorney, he advises on application, opposition, nullity and infringement proceedings and prepares expert reports. Jan Gehrmann is also actively involved in training within the field of intellectual property. For example, he was appointed by the Federal Office of Justice to the examination board for patent attorneys.

Prior to his long-standing role as a patent attorney at a leading global law firm in Hamburg, Jan Gehrmann completed his training as a patent attorney at a renowned Cologne-based patent law firm, at the German Patent and Trade Mark Office, at the Federal Patent Court and at the Regional Court of Düsseldorf.

Prior to this, Jan Gehrmann obtained his PhD in Materials Science at the University of Oxford, England, having completed an interdisciplinary degree with a specialisation in Materials Science at the Technical University of Hamburg. Jan Gehrmann also undertook research stays at the University of Cambridge, England, and at Swansea University, Wales.
